OK so I started this page clear back in December but not a single word was written... writer's block. That and laziness will be my excuse almost all of the time every time, that and my space key is missing and certain keys stick causing my O.C.D. to go into constant fix it mode and I end up quitting before I begin! Ha ha! so! I got a few words down and we will see where this goes!
I am a 40 + something single mother of 2 really awesome kiddos who keep me going through my crazy pain infested life. I have a boy and a girl and so couldn't be happier and no thank you I will not be having any more!!! My son is 9 years old, special needs but smart as a whip!! My daughter is 2 and also a smart little lass. I definitely have my hands full with these 2! I Have had so many surgeries in the past 10 years that I lost count. 12 Shingles outbreaks, migraines on a regular basis, and really weird and yet to be figured out nerve issues. Not to mention Anxiety and depression, germaphobia, social anxiety, A.D.H.D. and you get the picture... We have 3 pets: Sourpuss the red eared slider, Piggy Back the map turtle, and 1 O'Clock the rooster. Yeah you read that right, 2turtles and a rooster!! Don't ask me how because I honestly don't know how it happened!
So you may be asking what are the Three C's all about? I will try my best to put something on here at least once a week to do with cooking, cleaning, or crafting... (& even tho it doesn't start with a C we will sneak in some other stuff here and there when I find it just because I know I will find it awesome and will want to share it with you...) Most often it will be something I cooked because I am always in the kitchen and then I have to take a picture and show someone what yummy dinner we had or dessert I made, and so on. In the fall I am a canning and baking fool and there will be no end... When I say I will try it is just that. I do love to do all this stuff and I have amind that thinks it can do so much more than than mybody will allow. I amin a constant state of pain, some days worse than others sooooo, when my fingers will bend and such will get something accomplished...
I made 3 special order pens and 4 pin cushions just the other day. I have about 15 pens already but have to make more and I need to make a bunch of purses and pin cushions. Notto menton mug rugs! I am in craft mode over drive now that it is springtime and summer will bring craft fairs, rendezvous and there will be the Farmer's Market to keep me cooking so I will be sure to put some tasty treats out to sell. I made a bunch of bag tags to go on my tea bag cookies and will be combining hem with my mug rugs. This fall I have to can pickles, peppers, jams, jellies, marmalades, and syrups not to mention bake all the breads, cookies, and spiced nuts!!! I will pos pics and recipes, and if I got the pattern, recipe etc. else I will post the link tothe original poster...
I haven't got an online shop set up yet but will be looking in to one soon for anyone interested in purchasing items they find unbearably awesome and calling out to them to buy ha ha ha!!!
One thing I do take a lot of pride in and have a lot of fun with is my children's birthdays! I make their cakes from scratch and decorate them myself. I have no job and am not on disability etc so I do not have a lot of money. I can't afford to go buy fancy cakes, but I can make them!!
this is a cake I made for my son's 3rd birthday, I made a layer cake, used gumballs, iced animal crackers, candy sticks, I used a disposable bowl upside down on a paper plate decorated with construction paper and candy buttons, gum drops, and stickers, food coloring in regular store bought icing piped it through a ziploc baggy!
For my son's 4th birthday we did a dress up Pirates of Carribean bash. I bought the figures from my grocer's bakery for real cheap the trees came in a dollar store dinosaur package, the coconuts are made of prepackaged almond joy candy balls, You can't see it in this picture but there is a toy ship in the water. I used yellow food colored frosting in the treasure chest, and the sand is fine graham cracker crumbs.
Just this past December 2011 I ,made this Lego cake for my son's 9th birthday. He requested both vanilla and carrot cake with whipped cream frosting so I made it half and half. All the frosting is whipped cram and I used marshmallows to make the pegs. My daughter was just learnig to help so this was not the neatest cakeI have made!
I have to admit I fell for that stupid free first cake ccrap from my local grocer and I must say...The dissappoinment was overwhelming!!! the picture explains it all... it was a mess... NEVER AGAIN...that it all...
Lesson learned!! This is the cake I made for her party this October 2011! along with Jessy from Toy Story cowgirl hat cookies chex mix feed pails... The bottom layers were chocolate and vanilla, the top layer (pony) was orange with mandarin orange slices throughout. the frosting on the pony was whipped cream/ crushed pineapple... you have to put that skittles eye on at the last minute or the candy coating will run...!
Ugh....I'm stopping now... when it comes to my kids and the stuff I have made I could go on and on and on... but since its midnight where I am---> I am going to quit and start a sewing project just so I can complain I haven't had enough sleep tomorrow!! Goodnight!!
